Quality Claims’ DART Program helps Homeowners to Negotiate and Settle Property Insurance Claims

Mortgage Servicers and Banks Can Now Help their Customers Recover After Storm Related Property Losses

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Quality Claims Management Corporation’s innovative Disaster Assistance Recovery Team (DART) program is designed to assist mortgage servicers in supporting their customers in storm-affected areas. By helping homeowners recover equitable insurance settlements to rebuild and restore their properties, they are less likely to become delinquent or default on their loan. At the same time the servicer is able to protect their collateral by keeping track of the claim process and the funds recovered.

“By assisting borrowers with their insurance claims, we ensure they are treated fairly by their insurance carrier and we help protect our clients’ collateral at the same time.”

According to Ronald Reitz, President of Quality Claims Management, “By assisting borrowers with their insurance claims, we ensure they are treated fairly by their insurance carrier and we help protect our clients’ collateral at the same time.”

Quality Claims will assess the storm’s overall impact on the servicer’s customers and seek to identify and mitigate losses as quickly as possible. This can be a straight forward process where Quality verifies the claim and simply monitors the progress on behalf of the servicer until final resolution. In complicated or disputed cases, Quality Claims can assign a licensed public adjuster to adjust the borrower’s claim which benefits the servicer, investor and borrower.

Hurricane Irene is estimated to have caused an estimated $7 billion to $14 billion in damage in ten states. According to the Consumer Federation of America, homeowners suffered about $5 billion in personal claims from wind damages and another $2 billion in flood damage.

Quality Claims’ teams possess unique skills and extensive knowledge and experience representing mortgagees in addition to a deep understanding of insurance policy language and coverages. After reviewing a claim, QC teams are often able to find additional coverages and benefits that the homeowner may not have been offered by the insurance company’s representatives after a disaster event.
